Our education and worship schedule is listed to the left.  The information below should help you understand the format of each Mass and so you can determine which activities will provide you the strength to make it through your week.

Saturday 5:30 pm Vigil Mass

This Mass uses the Rite II liturgy and is accompanied by contemporary music; piano sometimes with guitar or wind or brass instrument accompanyment.  The homily is the same as that presented at our Sunday worship services.  The Mass includes full eucharist but is slightly shorter than that presented on Sundays and the service usually lasts about 30 to 40 minutes.  A brief reception with wine, hors d'oevres and fellowship typically follows the service.  There is no nursery available for this service.

Sunday 7:45 am Rite I Mass

This is our only Mass that uses the Rite I liturgy.  There is organ accompanyment for this traditional full but brief Mass, including eucharist.  The service usually concludes around 8:30 am.  There is no nursery available for this Mass.

Sunday 9:00 am Low Mass

This is our standard low Mass and we use the Rite II liturgy.  Traditional organ hymns and our Saint Columba Choristers (youth choir) typically accompany the full spoken Mass.  Mass includes a full eucharist and ushers are available to direct attendees during the service.  Children's Chapel is also available during this Mass and the children are brought in during the peace to join their families.  The Mass usually lasts about an hour and a full nursery is available starting at 8:30 am.

Sunday 10:10 am Sunday School

(during school year: mid-August thru late-May)

Both adult and children's education are held.  Children meet in the cottages while adult education is held in the Narthex.

Sunday 11:15 am High Mass

This is our beautiful high Mass, complete with incense.  Portions of the liturgy are sung and a full choir and organ accompany the program.  It is said if you sing you are praying twice and this Mass encapslates the wonderful talents of our music director with melodious prayers risen up to God.  Mass includes a full eucharist and ushers are available to direct attendees during the service.  Children's Chapel is also available during this Mass and the children are brought in during the peace to join their families.  The Mass usually lasts a little over an hour and a full nursery is available.

Wednesday 6:00 pm Brief Mass & Potluck Supper

(during school year: mid-August thru late-May)

This is a spoken Mass with a brief homily relating to one of the weekday occasions.  A full eucharist is included, but there are no ushers or nursery available.  Mass usually lasts about 30 to 40 minutes.  A potluck supper follows the Mass with a main dish provided.  Activities for children and adults are provided and attendees are encouraged to bring a side dish to share.

Wednesday 6:30 pm Stations of the Cross

(during Lent)

Walking the via dolorosa (the way of sorrows) is perhaps one of the best ways to appreciate the fullness of Jesus' passion and sacrifice. Stations will be read each Wednesday during Lent following the 6:00 Mass. It only takes about 15 minutes and is an excellent devotion for your family.
