We live in a sophisticated, technologically centered age which seemingly calls into question former certainties of faith and sometimes even faith itself.  Life if full of challenges and those challenges of life bring their own challenges to our faith.   The sometimes muddy waters of our spiritual lives which seemed so clear and fresh at our baptisms can become difficult places for us and moving through them can seem impossible.  Our faith, though, can be helped by the stories and legends of those heroic men and women the Church calls her Saints.  Their lives conquered many of the same doubts and uncertainties we all face and their witness inspires not only those of their time but countless more who have come after them.  We’re surrounded by their ‘great cloud of witness’ and their stories inspire us not only in how to move through the muddy waters of life back into those clear pools of God’s grace, but also they help us find God in new ways, new places, and  then begin to discover a richer, more meaningful life.
