Confirmation Classes

 

Confirmation is the sacramental rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by the Bishop. 

 

This Fall, we are offering two confirmation classes, one for adults and one for teenagers in the 9th through 12th grades.  Classes will be held immediately after the 11:15am Mass.  Father Tripp and Judge Adams will lead the adult classes and Father Joe will lead the youth.  Confirmation will be held at the Cathedral of St. Phillip in Atlanta on December 9th at 4:00pm.

 

There will be eight classes in all for the confirmands, and the topics will range from sacraments, scripture, the Episcopal Church and Anglican Communion, to how we can affirm all these things through the prayer life of the Church in order to strengthen our lives in Jesus Christ.  These classes are for those who desire to receive the sacrament of confirmation, to be received in the Episcopal Church from another denomination, or to learn more about the faith and traditions of the church.

 

Classes are underway now, but it’s not too  late to begin.  We will also offer a second rounds of classes in the Spring, for those unable to participate this Fall.  You can sign up for either class by emailing admin@saintcolumba.net or calling the parish office 770-888-4464.
