Grow In Faith

Fall Series

Wednesdays This Fall

September 10 - October 29

“The Shattering Sound of Amazing Grace”

We begin our Wednesday program year on September 10th with an exciting series, “The Shattering Sound of Amazing Grace.” As we use the Gospel of St John as the backdrop, we’ll discover the effect that encountering Jesus had on people’s lives. Encountering Jesus isn’t just something that happened to people in the Bible, we all have the opportunity to encounter Him daily in our own lives. That encounter can challenge us to shatter our ideas about God and about love and in their place help us to see the overwhelming, never-ending, reckless love of God.

schedule

Images of the Holy easily become holy images — sacrosanct. My idea of God is not a divine idea. It has to be shattered time after time. He shatters it Himself. He is the great iconoclast. Could we not almost say that this shattering is one of the marks His presence? The Incarnation is the supreme example; it leads all previous idea of the Messiah in ruins.
